This book is intended as a text book for a first-year graduate course, and the material can be covered in two semesters or three quarters with appropriate selections depending on the students' interest. The book is also a useful reference for engineers working on electromagnetic, optical , or acoustics problems with aerospace, biomedical engineering, remote sensing, and ocean engineering applications. The book includes two parts: the first part covers fundamentals of electromagnetic wave propagation, radiation and scattering. Ample end of chapter problems are presented for the first part, and a detailed solution manual is avaliable. The second part explores applications of electromagnetic waves including radiometry, geophysical remote sensing and imaging, biomedical and signal processing applications.
