This text provides both an introduction to and an advanced understanding of statistical modeling of ICU data. It addresses clinical endpoints used in ICU, such as different measures of mortality and the analysis of repeated measures. Furthermore, the book deals with data from randomized clinical trials, with some emphasis on trials that ought to be done in pandemic settings (such as H1N1), as well as data from observational nonrandomized studies, including registries that are often used in ICU or assessment of care that could not be easily randomly assigned (such as ICU care itself).
