The Developing Core Literacy Proficiencies Program offers you the knowledge, skills, and habits you need to become a successful literate person. You will learn the skills it takes to be an accomplished reader, thinker, and writer, and gain the knowledge necessary to grow your literacy. To become a literate person you must also acquire ways of thinking and working—academic habits—that develop over time.

Being a literate person is more important than ever. In today's technology-driven world, no matter what you want to do–go to college, become an artist, open a business, design computer apps, join the military, work in construction, or just keep up with the news–you will need to be literate. The learning experiences in the Odell Education materials are designed to help you take control of your own literacy development in order to be successful in life.
