AEC Technology Handbook: Past, Present & Future

This is the first, and only, book to cover the range of AEC technologies, both software and hardware.  Offering an overview of existing, established technologies such as BIM and 3D laser scanning, it also covers near-term technologies such as RFID and on-site fab plants that are expected to gain wider use in the next 2-3 years.  The book describes the cooperation of these technologies and the expected trend of further integration in the near-term (for example, using the BIM to track materials on the job site through the use of RFID and bar code scanners as well as managing just in time manufacturing and delivery schedules.)
